My Story
The Synthesis of Chemistry & Code
I am Ragil Zakaria, currently working as a Forward Deployed Engineer at Kulkul Technology , and operating as a Tech Consultant. I specialize in designing and deploying custom AI solutions, high-throughput data processing workflows, and responsive full-stack software architectures.
Before entering the industry full-time, I trained in Computational Chemistry at the premier university in Indonesia, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). I graduated first in my class (batch) out of 150+ students. My research focused on molecular simulation, resulting in my thesis: "Predictive Modeling of Ionic Liquids CO2 Capture using ML and Quantum Chemical Descriptors"
During my academic studies, I balanced a heavy curriculum with part-time roles at Kulkul Technology . I served as a Bookkeeper & Analyst, recording financial transactions worth billions of IDR, and analyzing and planning business models. Concurrently, in my second year, I completed a Software Engineer Internship there, developing simulation features for GasGun (a web-based petroleum engineering simulation suite) using Python and Angular, and performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and query optimization.
In my third year, I completed an Erasmus Exchange Program at the University of Warsaw in Poland. There, I studied Chemistry and Mathematics, focusing on Machine Learning, Data Analysis, Computational Chemistry, and Bioinformatics.
Beyond the classroom, I am deeply committed to community building. I served as the President of the Gadjah Mada Blockchain Club and the Community Organizer of Stacks Indonesia. Under my leadership, we secured grants from the Ethereum Foundation (for the Road to Devcon roadshow) and Stacks (Layer-2 Bitcoin meetups). We coordinated blockchain technology conferences across four major cities in Indonesia (Surabaya, Bandung, Yogyakarta, and Solo), engaging with over 500+ participants and growing cumulative channels to thousands of members.
Additionally, I engaged in academic mentorship, providing private tutoring to 10+ international students. This included teaching computer programming to students in China and Hong Kong, and lecturing Master's Pharmacy students in Advanced Organic Chemistry (Retrosynthesis) while I was still pursuing my bachelor's degree.
In my free time, I enjoy playing the guitar—a passion I have cultivated for over 8 years. I occasionally share my music by uploading videos to YouTube .

- 3D Scaffold Printer Optimizer: Developed custom CLI tools and ML algorithms to optimize scaffold layer processing for a Materials Science PhD at Eindhoven University.
